“Panic is a natural human response to danger, but it’s one that severely compounds the risk.” – David Ignatius, journalist
“…requires us to see its value for us and our future!”
There is so much fear, panic and misinformation going around the globe about COVID19. Let’s get more grounded, certain and present about our stress laden situation.
To manage any stressor, like COVID19, requires us to see its value to us and our future. When we can see clearly, the duality of it, how it is serving us, then, we are more equipped to manage it in the present moment.
With that thought in mind, please listen to Alanna Shaikh’s TEDTalk entitled, “Why COVID19 is hitting us now – and how to prepare for the next outbreak.”
Alanna Shaikh holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in public health from Boston University. She has lived in seven countries and is the author of What’s Killing Us: A Practical Guide to Understanding Our Biggest Global Health Problem. Recent article publications include one on global health security in Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper and an essay in the Annual Review of Comparative and International Education.
Alanna presents an authoritative, practical, perspective that will enable you to keep what is going on in a useful and healthy perspective for yourself and others.
I appreciate your thoughts and comments.
