There are benefits to your TV addiction including…resurrection?
“Life doesn’t imitate art, it imitates bad television.” – Woody Allen, Director
“…hopelessly naive and just bored with own life…”
I remember when the television was called “the boob tube!” I also read somewhere television is considered by some as the “greatest educational tool ever created.”
Some people are scared kids watch too much TV, get the wrong ideas from TV and are turning into fat, talking heads right before our eyes.
I remember when adults who watched soap operas were considered to be hopelessly naive and just bored with their own life.
I think Kate Adams’ TedTalk: “4 larger-than-life lessons from soap operas!” offers a refreshing perspective. After graduating from the University of North Carolina with a BA in journalism and mass communication, Kate was, for eight years, the assistant casting director at the Emmy-winning soap opera “As the World Turns.” Now, she is a managing editor of UPS.com.
Kate, with her insider’s perspective, offers at least five important ‘takeaways’ from soaps. But actually, I think they are applicable to most other stories on the ‘boob tube.’ But, you decide for yourself! Check out her video! It will change how you view your time in front of the ‘window on the world!’
“We owe a lot to Thomas Edison – if it wasn’t for him, we’d be watching television by candlelight.”
– Milton Berle, Comedian
